"Cagey Productions proves themselves worth watching!"
-Martin Denton nytheatre.com
Please don't eat the pictures. Check out some nice work in color by photographer Joseph Sbarro who shot The Blue Puppies Cycle in December 2007. See a sample below. We'll rotate the pictures over the next few weeks.

Look out for Zombies.
Cagey Productions has been awarded a Space Grant from the Brooklyn Arts Exchange to develop THE ZOMBIE CHRONICLES, a six part avant-garde project exploring theatrical devices with zombies. Art and zombies. Sends shivers of delight up our spines. In January 2008 Cagey presented a twenty minute excerpt of THE ZOMBIE CHRONICLES at BAX.

Winter 2007 with Cagey - Got Puppies?
"A genuinely inventive theatrical adventure!" -Martin Denton nytheatre.com
"THE BLUE PUPPIES CYCLE" written and directed by David Vining nytheatre.com says BLUE PUPPIES is "richly entertaining, deliciously imaginative, and often very funny.... The collision of dark absurdist satire and passive consumerist complacency makes for a hilarious and pungent combination." Time Out NY calls BLUE PUPPIES a "trippy, episodic riff on the Electra myth." A big blue furry thanks to our cast, staff and audiences for THE BLUE PUPPIES CYCLE. What a wonderful way to spend a New York winter. Cagey's mini epic concluded its five year adventure at The Chocolate Factory and we had a blast.
THE BLUE PUPPIES CYCLE -------------------------------- June 2007 with Cagey - Are You Smart?
Much thanks to our friends at HERE for sponsoring THE CURSE OF THE SMART KID. And an extra thanks to our audiences and artists for a terrific workshop.

May 2007 with Cagey - Did You Get Scared?
One closet. Two people. Ten minutes.
Lots of zombies. Thanks to all for a great series of sold-out shows! From May 3rd - 5th, Cagey was presenting a play about one of our favorite things - zombies! Cagey was a part of Tiny Theater! sponsored by The Brick and The Ontological. The festival challenges artists to make a short play in a 6'x6'x6' space. We complied by coming up with "End", a (literally) dark tale of friendship, a closet and zombies. Featuring live sound effects! Thanks to The Brick for being a super host.

April 2007 with Cagey - Did You Get Angry?
Thanks to all who came to see our reprise of "Angry Rants of the Disenchanted Foreigners" at the Brooklyn Arts Exchange. This provocative short play explores the notion of the good ol' American Dream from an unexpected perspective. Special thanks to our friends at BAX for inviting Cagey to their terrific space.

Cagey pals.
What is it about the phrase "Cagey pals" that makes us giggle with glee? Whatever it is, check out the work of Cagey founders and cohorts this summer. Cagey founder David Vining appears in the Toy Theater Festival at St. Ann's Warehouse. See him in LAIKA'S COFFIN written and directed by Frank Maugeri and Seth Bockley. See www.stannswarehouse.org for details. See Nasty Canasta (a certain Cagey cohort's burlesque alter ego) in action at NYC hotspots. www.nastycanasta.com for schedule.
